Die Insel Spetse gehört zu der Inselgruppe des Argosaronikos. Sie hat eine Fläche von 22,5 km² Die Hügel der Insel sind größtenteils mit wundervollen Fichtenwälder bedeckt. Bei den Athenern ist die Insel
ein beliebtes Reiseziel und eine Erholungsstätte, da
sie östlich vom Peloponnes liegt und angenehme Verkehrsbedingungen vom Piräus hat.

Diejenigen, die ansprucksvolle Erholung und Tourismus suchen, finden traditionelles Leben, aber auch Erhohlung in der Natur. Im Gegensatz zu der Nachbarinsel Hydra, mit Ihrer strengen Architektur sind die meisten spezerischen Herrenhäuser weiß, mit dunkelfarbigen Einfassungen, die vielen kleinen Fenster umrahmen
und somit eine einzigartige Ausstrahlung bekommen.

Die Innenhöfe sind mit traditionellen Muster aus Kieselsteinen gepflastert und zeigen meistens Seemannsmotive. Diese alten Herrenhäuser, wie auch das Museum von Bouboulina, der alte Hafen und die Klöster, sowie der ganze Insel ist nur zu Fuss, mit dem Esel, Kutschen oder Motorräder erreichbar, da auf der Insel Autos verboten sind.

Spetses bezaubert auch durch die Strände mit türkisfarbenen Wasser, welche zum Teil nur mit dem Boot erreichbar sind und ruhe und Erholung bieten.

Spetses is the last Island of the series on the Islands
of Argosaronicos Bay. It is of 22,5 km² size, covered by pine-tree woods and small hills. Due to its locations –
in the east of the Peloponnese- and to its efficient communication in terms of transportation with the
traffic conditions of Piraeus.

It is one of the most popular holiday resorts for the Athenians, which is the reason why it caters for high quality tourism as well as for traditionall way of living
by nature. In contrast to the the architecture of the neihbourhoud Island Hydra, the old stately manor-houses of Spetses are mostly white, with dark-coulered framed small numerous windows. The inner courts are paved with traditional samples from pebbles and mostly show sailor motives.

This traditional manor-houses, museums, the old port and the monasteries can be visitet either by horse – carrianges and on donkeys or on feet, because there are no cars allowed on the Island.
